Me and Helena were approached by a person in the committee of another society who was planning a non-profit music event at a local pub. It was with an organization call 'Love Music, Hate Racism'.
We were asked to make a flyer for free (which we didn't mind too much) and she completely trusted us and didn't have huge expectations. We exchanged a lot of questions and got as much info out of her about what she wanted as possible, such as colours, the music/bands that would be played, time/date, existing logo/colour scheme, etc.
We then planned another meet for when we had a rough design that she could look at. She seemed very happy with what we had created and we exchanged a couple emails back and forth for a few changes she wanted made (but we couldn't spare too much time, since it was made for free).
Overall it was a good experience of a real life client (in a safe environment). We had a few problems because the client had to cancel our meet and then was unsure about timings for the final thing. But I think all the frustration was worth it and we were able to see our flyer put up on the street which was pretty COOL!
